TRICARE Beneficiaries Raise $75,000 for Military Families Through TriWest Healthcare Alliance Program
PHOENIX, June 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Thousands of military households helped collect $75,000 in contributions for their fellow military families in need by choosing to manage their health care online with TriWest Healthcare Alliance.
TriWest's "Go Green & Give" campaign—which encourages TRICARE West Region beneficiaries to go paperless for their health care statements—will donate $74,545 to four national charities that assist America's military families.
In all, nearly 15,000 TRICARE households in the western U.S. participated in the three-month "Go Green & Give" campaign.
"By choosing to get information electronically, our TRICARE beneficiaries not only simplified access to their personal health care information, they also provided an additional boost to four organizations that work incredibly hard to support America's military families," said TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr.
Military Beneficiaries Go Green, TriWest Gives Green
For each of the nearly 15,000 households that picked to receive their health care statements electronically, TriWest donated $5 to one of four military charities:
- Armed Services YMCA: Funds will assist junior enlisted Air Force families across the western U.S. by providing access to youth development and education, family strengthening, and health and well-being programs.
- Coast Guard Foundation: Provides education, support and relief for Coast Guard families.
- Navy/Marine Corps Relief Society: Offers financial, educational and other assistance to active duty and retired Navy and Marine Corps members, as well as their family members and survivors.
- Operation Homefront: The Army Homefront Fund helps wounded soldiers return to duty or transition successfully back to civilian life by providing assistance with rent/mortgage, utilities, home repair, food, child care and baby items, vehicle repair, moving assistance and health care.
