"Truth in 24 II: Every Second Counts" to Make Television Debut on SPEED TV on May 5

HERNDON, Va., May 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- On Saturday, May 5 SPEED TV will present the television debut of "Truth in 24 II: Every Second Counts," the third installation of the popular documentary series. The film chronicles the gripping challenges overcome by the Audi Sport Team Joest and its engineers at the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France. After terrifying crashes claimed the two other Audi race cars, the third and final race car was left to hold off three Peugeots resulting in the team's ultimate victory.

"Truth in 24 II: Every Second Counts," narrated by Jason Statham, documents the Audi Sport Team Joest as they attempt to seek Audi's tenth victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2011. When tragedy struck twice, the lone Audi R18 TDI® #2 race car remained to fight three Peugeots. Risks were taken, boundaries were pushed and nerves were rattled. "Truth in 24 II: Every Second Counts" highlights Audi's win and documents what unfolded over the next 24 Hours at Le Mans as it became one of the most competitive and gripping races the world had ever seen.

The tenth win also made history as Gade, who was forced to make many difficult split second decisions, was named the first female race engineer ever to orchestrate a winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Held at the elegant Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday, April 26, the event was attended by Andre Lotterer, Benoit Treluyer and Marcel Fässler, drivers of the winning R18 TDI® #2, Audi Sport Team Joest.  Also in attendance were film producer Scot Thor; Audi of America Chief Marketing Officer Scott Keogh; Director, Western Region for Audi of America Mike Cagle, and Audi of America dealers Jeff West and Ted Moreno.
