TRX and Dinova Announce Strategic Partnership Leveraging Restaurant Spend

ATLANTA, April 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- TRX, Inc. (www.trx.com) (OTCQB: TRXI), a world-leading provider of travel technology, process automation, consulting and data services today announced a partnership with Dinova—a company that enables corporations to reduce employee dining expenses by directing their travelers to restaurants in the Dinova network.
TRAVELTRAX®, a TRX travel and expense (T&E) data consolidation and reporting solution, will now offer customers the option of using Dinova to reduce expenses within this significant T&E category. For most companies, business meals represent approximately 9% of T&E, an expense equivalent to the rental car category. TRAVELTRAX customers who enroll in the Dinova program will recognize immediate, quantifiable savings whenever they use restaurants within the preferred network. TRAVELTRAX customers will not pay an enrollment fee to participate in the Dinova program.
"We are excited about the partnership with Dinova, extending savings opportunities to our customers who utilize TRAVELTRAX. Our customers will have ability to leverage their corporate card data and gain deeper insight into T&E spend beyond the air, hotel and car categories," said Shane Hammond, President and CEO of TRX. "Dinova has developed a solid and growing network of restaurants, and corporate buyers will recognize additional benefits as the network grows."
Dinova offers a unique service which enables corporations to save money by implementing a preferred restaurant program. By bringing together well-known restaurants with major corporations, Dinova offers corporate customers a turn-key solution which tackles dining expenses in the same way their preferred supplier programs work for other categories. Dinova integrates seamlessly into a corporation's existing travel management policies and infrastructure.
"TRX was an obvious choice for us as we looked to partner with a global leader in travel data and technology," said Vic Macchio, Founder & CEO of Dinova. "It will be easy for TRAVELTRAX customers to enroll and take advantage of our program. With more than 4,500 preferred restaurant partners in the Dinova network—and many more coming soon—companies will see an immediate benefit after they sign up."
Enrollment will be simple for existing TRAVELTRAX customers. In many cases, it will be as easy as signing a contract amendment to their existing agreements.
"Our customers continually ask about other areas in which they can leverage their buying power," said Tom Tulloch, TRX Senior Vice President of Business Intelligence & Consulting. "Dinova has answered that question very nicely in the restaurant category. It's one example of how preferred supplier relationships can extend beyond the typical T&E categories."
By optimizing the relationship between restaurants and corporations, Dinova has experienced high demand for its program since it was introduced in 2009. This, in combination with the fact that TRAVELTRAX already reports on billions of T&E spend, made the partnership an easy decision.
"We consistently hear from prospective customers that they need a secure and efficient means of data handling and a deeper visibility into their spend so they can maximize their savings on our program," said Chris Froelich, Vice President Client Development of Dinova. "By partnering with TRX, we check all the boxes."
