Turtle Beach Announces Acton As Distribution Partner In China
Acton will help Turtle Beach meet the growing Chinese consumer demand for video game accessories
VALHALLA, N.Y., June 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Turtle Beach, leading audio brand in games, today announced the appointment of Acton as the exclusive distributor of Turtle Beach gaming headsets in China. Acton has more than 15 years of retail distribution experience in China, and will help Turtle Beach meet the growing demand for headsets and video game accessories from Chinese consumers.
Turtle Beach has experienced steady growth over the past three years in response to strong, global consumer demand for the company's gaming headsets based on their quality, innovative features, and value. The company's distribution footprint increased by more than 50 percent in 2012, and Turtle Beach branded headsets are now distributed in 41 countries across North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Acton gives Turtle Beach immediate access to more than 2,000 retail locations in China, expanding Turtle Beach's presence to more than 29,000 storefronts worldwide.
Acton is a Hong Kong-based organization, with offices in Shanghai and Beijing, that distributes and sells professional and consumer audio equipment in China. Acton is a subsidiary of Tom Lee Group, which owns and operates a number of music-related business, including the retail chain Tom Lee Music. It will distribute Turtle Beach's line of gaming headsets in China, Macau and Hong Kong.

According to a report issued by TechWeb, China's video game industry was worth an estimated 60.28 billion yuan (approx. $10 billion) in 2012, and the market is expected to grow in double digits annually over the next five years. Turtle Beach owns more than half the market share in almost every country in which it retails, including a 53% share of the U.S. headset market as of year-end 2012.
