TV5 Québec Canada helps preserve the French language across Canada with FRANCOLAB

MONTREAL, Feb. 18, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Bolstered by the success of its first year online, and full of rich and diverse educational content, FRANCOLAB, the free web platform developed by TV5 Québec Canada, is becoming a go-to resource for teachers and students of the French language in every province and territory of Canada.  By sending information kits to teachers across the country, FRANCOLAB is pursuing its mission to help people learning French to hone their language skills.

The FRANCOLAB team is currently sending teachers a collection of materials presenting the many themed modules, quizzes, videos and teaching fact sheets that are available online.  More than 250 school boards, nearly 100 post-secondary institutions or summer schools, and close to 150 associations, organizations and French-language teaching centres, as well as some 30 teachers' associations and institutional groups, will soon have all the information in hand to begin using the content on this platform.  By the end of this campaign, TV5 will have reached several thousand teachers across Canada and introduced them to FRANCOLAB.

In addition, starting March 4, 2013, FRANCOLAB will invite students registered in French as a second language, French immersion or francization courses in Canada to take part in a contest, Le français m'inspire (''Inspired by French'').  Participants will be asked to choose a French expression or proverb and illustrate it in a photo, image or video.  Complete details are available at lefrancaisminspire.tv5.ca.
