FAIRFIELD, Conn., Nov. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- TVEyes was assigned U.S. patent 9,148,675 SYSTEM FOR SOCIAL MEDIA TAG EXTRACTION for the invention by David J. Ives, James H. Hayter, Maxim Oei and David B. Seltzer of a system to extract media tags in broadcast television and Internet video, making it possible to search video for these tags and to monitor and measure the social media impact of these tags after they appear in video. The patent was originally applied for on June 5, 2013. The patent was granted on September 29, 2015 and may be read in its entirety at this link at the USPTO.
"Social media tags are literally embedded in the images on broadcast television and video. Before this invention it was impossible to monitor or search these media for the vast majority of tag and handle mentions, nor analyze and report on their appearance. Yet the impact of social media incorporated within broadcast is widely understood to be important to connect news, entertainment and advertising with Internet-resident resources and social media platforms," said David J. Ives, founder and chief executive officer of TVEyes, Inc. "With this proprietary technology developed at TVEyes, we and our licensees are able to report not only on the appearance of social media tags, handles and URLs, but also logos, trademarks, brand names, keywords and phrases within broadcast and Internet video content and as they proliferate across the Web and social media platforms."
TVEyes is actively seeking to license its patented methods for serving contextually relevant advertisements (U.S. patent 9,087,331 CONTEXTUAL ADVERTISING FOR VIDEO AND AUDIO MEDIA) as well as the patent announced today. The firm welcomes inquiries from Website and application owners, as well as ad serving networks and others whose users and businesses may benefit from these inventions. Interested parties may contact TVEyes at email@example.com.
