TV's Stephen Colbert Hosts Public Access TV Show on Michigan TV

Lacks the Common Courtesy to Inform his Publicist

MONROE, Mich., July 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Stephen Colbert shocked Americans across Southeast Michigan yesterday by guest hosting the local-interest cable access program "Only in Monroe." The once-in-a-lifetime television event was recorded under what experts have called "unnecessary secrecy," without so much as a heads-up to Colbert's very capable public-relations staff.

"I'm so grateful to the people of Monroe, Michigan and the whole crew at MPACT Studios," said Stephen Colbert, Host and Chief Privacy Officer of The Late Show. "I'd especially like to thank local performer Marshall Mathers –that man is poised for a breakout. He just needs a good stage name. I'm thinking 'MarshMat.'"

Colbert's episode of "Only in Monroe" has become a viral sensation, though if he had bothered to inform his team of marketing professionals about it, no doubt it would have been even viralier. After all, they're the reason why TMZ never got the video of Colbert's belligerent meltdown over the number of pita-chip bags he was entitled to as a Southwest Rapid Rewards member.

The now-legendary "Only In Monroe" show can be seen on the Michigan-Wide-Web, as well as the World-Wide-Web.

"The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" premieres on September 8th on CBS, unless that date has changed, but nobody tells me anything anymore.
