The 2016 Conference for Louisiana Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten Teachers will be expanded this year to include more sessions, more presenters, and more value adds. In 40 relevant sessions, teachers will learn fresh new ways to manage challenging students, organize and run their classrooms, teach and engage with games and centers, and address students with special needs.
The 2016 Conference for Louisiana First-Grade Teachers will meet the specific demands of attendees in 32 content-rich sessions. Teachers will learn effective intervention strategies for at-risk students that work across the content areas, solid techniques to ramp up fluency in math and literacy, powerful classroom management tips for fitting it all in, and new ways to integrate technology into instruction.
"There's no better way to tackle tough classroom challenges than to gather a team of education experts to share their experience and perspectives. That's what we'll do in Louisiana. It's the place to be to learn what's working and what's not from bloggers, classroom teachers, authors, and others actively involved in the classroom," according to SDE program developer Kymra Kurinskas.
Participants in both conferences will gather each morning for a shared keynote. On day one, Louisiana's Dan St. Romain, management and behavior expert, will speak about teachers who make a difference and later be available for a book signing. On day two, Lori Elliott, Ed.D. will inspire attendees in her humorous keynote on the unique qualities of teachers.
"We've pulled out all the stops. Don't miss this chance to get two full days of expert advice and guidance, tailored to your specific needs, whether you're a pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, or first-grade teacher," Kurinskas says.
