uberlife Launches at SxSW to Make Hanging out With Friends and new People Easier, Faster and More fun

Hailed by Techcrunch as "The new Foursquare for future real-world meet-ups", uberlife a real-world location-based social network that makes it easy to hang out with your online networks and new likeminded people in offline settings will be launching their iPhone app in the U.S. at South by Southwest (SxSW).

Social networks give us the tools to connect easily, instantly and frequently online. uberlife brings that same ease and opportunity to "offline" interactions making informal get-togethers and socializing with friends and new people, easier, faster and more fun.

uberlife is CEO and founder Sanchita Saha's second startup in the online/offline social networking space after raising £1m funding from European VC PROfounders Capital, backed by Michael Birch (Bebo) and Brent Hoberman (Lastminute.com).

Users sign-up with Facebook or Twitter and create real world "hangouts" around where they are or intend to be. Broadcasting these to their online social networks invites whoever's free to "come join", saving time pinging back and forth, inviting people individually, and the rejection of a "no" if they're unavailable.

Users can also discover and join hangouts happening around them, and search them by tags to find hangouts that match their interests to meet and socialize with other likeminded people.

Following the UK launch of their API, web and mobile app, the company has seen growing interest globally with people using uberlife to find others to grab a meal with as well as to go to upcoming gigs, conferences, festivals and happy hours with.

uberlife is also attracting interest from DJs and bands - as a fun, easy way to engage offline with their fans and connect them with each other in the process - with international DJs Gabriel & Dresden and electronica indie rock band Shiny Toy Guns the first with confirmed fan "meet & greet" hangouts at SxSW.
