Ubersense Now Available for Coaches and Athletes on Android
Leading iOS Sports Video Analysis App Launches on Google Play Store
LINCOLN, Neb., Oct. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Ubersense, a video analysis tool with over 2.5 million downloads on iOS, has released its first version for Android, now available on Google Play. The app brings instant video replay, slow motion, and drawing tools to Android coaches and athletes, allowing them to improve their technique and fine-tune their game. Recently listed as a "Best New Sports App" in Apple's App Store, Ubersense has a global community of athletes and coaches from more than 50 sports in 150 countries. In addition to amateur and professional athletes, the app is used by Olympians in more than 20 sports.
"We've created the premier coaching app for iOS. Now, we are able to offer the same experience for Android users with a custom video processing engine we've built from the ground up," said Niels Boegholm, Product Manager for Consumer Sports at Hudl. "The result is a slow-motion playback solution that's unrivaled on the Android platform."
Ubersense's video analysis tools are used to break down swings in baseball, golf and tennis through slow motion playback and side-by-side comparisons. Other sports, like track and field, take advantage of the frame-by-frame precision to critique performance from a variety of angles.
Ubersense is available on Android 4.3 and higher with the following key features:
- Record: Use the built-in camera to record HD slow motion video, zoom during recording, and capture multiple snippets in one recording session.
- Import: Use videos from the device gallery or any third-party application with export capabilities, such as Google Drive and Dropbox.
- Analyze in slow motion: Instantly review performance with various slow-mo options (1/2, 1/4, or 1/8 speed) and frame-by-frame playback.
- Compare: View two videos stacked vertically or side-by-side.
- Add video annotations: Zoom and pan to assess every detail, and use drawing tools to measure and highlight performance.
- Export: Save videos to the device gallery.
The Android release comes on the heels of Ubersense being acquired by Hudl, a sports video software company, in August 2014. The acquisition made Hudl the largest online community for coaches and athletes in the world.
"Our vision at Hudl is to capture and bring value to every moment in sports," said David Graff, Hudl CEO. "With the launch of Ubersense for Android, we are one step closer to that goal by making great tools available to sports enthusiasts on one of the world's most popular platforms."
