SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Samplify Systems, Inc., a leading provider of technology, semiconductors and sub-systems for the ultrasound equipment market, announced today that Chris Daft, Ph.D. has joined the company as Senior Scientist, where he will apply his expertise to extend the company's leadership for its next generation of ultrasound beamforming technology and products.

Prior to joining Samplify, Dr. Daft was Senior Manager and Key Expert for Silicon Ultrasound at Siemens Healthcare, where he was responsible for ASIC and MEMS integration for smart ultrasound probes. Dr. Daft came to Siemens through the acquisition of Sensant Corp., which was the early leader in MEMS technology for capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducers (cMUTs). Prior to that, Dr. Daft was a physicist at GE Research. There, he was responsible for beamforming development for GE's premium line of ultrasound machines.
