Umano Offers New Premium Service in Latest Version of App

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Umano, an app featuring professional voice actors who read the news, now offers unlimited offline downloading and other features through Umano Premium, a new service available in the latest version of the iOS and Android app. Released today, Umano Premium provides improvements that listeners have requested since the service launched in October 2012.
"Over the last year, we've grown a consistent listener base, amassed a wide variety of content and hired a team of voice artists that Umano listeners love," said Ian Mendiola, co-founder and CEO of Umano. Umano Premium offers significant improvements in playlist management, including:
- Unlimited offline downloading of all articles
- Unlimited playlist sizes, instead of a 20-article cap
- Playlist reordering with touch-and-drag controls
- One-click playlist generator, which uses a listener's history to create personalized playlists
- News flash feature, which allows listeners to hear the latest breaking news headlines throughout the day
For listeners who enjoy falling asleep to Umano, the Premium service also includes an easy-to-use sleep timer. In addition, Premium listeners can customize their app by choosing one of five jingles to sound before Umano begins playing an article.
