Global Zero Group Will Announce Worldwide Campaign for Elimination of Nuclear Weapons
PARIS, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The Global Zero Summit February 2-4 in Paris will convene 200 international political, military, business and faith leaders -- as well as student leaders -- to discuss practical policy proposals for the phased, verified elimination of all nuclear weapons and to launch a global grassroots campaign. Speakers and attendees will include UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and former Secretary of State George Shultz.
The Summit will take place at the Intercontinental Hotel in Paris beginning February 2nd culminating with a press conference on February 4th. The speeches by Secretary Shultz and Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon will be open to the press as well.
Global Zero is an international initiative dedicated to achieving the phased, verified elimination of all nuclear weapons and spearheaded by a group of more than 200 leaders worldwide, including former heads of state, foreign ministers, defense ministers, national security advisors, and top military commanders.
