UN Senior Adviser Dr. Simona Marinescu Joins IDCA as Economy Counsel
WASHINGTON, Oct. 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- IDCA has announced that Senior Advisor to the UN Dr. Simona Marinescu has joined the organization as Economy Counsel on the IDCA Board of Directors. Dr. Marinescu has extensive leadership experience in global economic development, having served as UN in the Pacific, Senior Advisor for Small Islands Developing States, Director of the Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development, and Director of UNDP's Development Impact Group in New York.
She previously served as a minister, as Romania's Secretary of State for Labour and Social Protection and later as a Senator, chairing the Labour and Social Protection Committee. Simona holds a Ph.D. in International Business and Economics, an MBA, and executive studies at Harvard Kennedy School and the Cyprus International Institute of Management.
