The 10-night scenic land and sea adventure, from October 1-11, 2016, begins and ends in New York City, and is priced from $3,295 per person/double occupancy, with a choice of 11 suite and stateroom categories.
The journey starts aboard the private vintage Streamliner Montreal Limited at New York's Penn Station with seats in the restored Club Car for a daylight journey through the Hudson Valley and the Adirondacks to Lake Champlain, then onto Montreal for three nights at the Marriott Chateau Champlain. While in Montreal, guests will enjoy a complimentary city tour and welcome dinner at Le Grand Café. An optional Via Rail Canada day trip to Ottawa, Canada's capital, showcases the fall majesty of Gatineau Park and Parliament Hill.
On October 4, guests board Via Rail Canada for Quebec City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Following the complimentary sightseeing tour, guests will board the Queen Mary 2. Fresh from her $132 million enhancement that added new dining options and refreshed accommodations, she will embark the afternoon of October 5.
The itinerary includes Saguenay, Quebec, home to Saguenay Fjord National Park; the Gaspé Peninsula, with Percé Rock and breaching whales off Forillon National Park; and Halifax, capital of Nova Scotia, to tour Britain's first overseas government capital with a kilted guide.
