UniCare to Hold Healthy Family Healthy Kids Expo Aimed at Helping Families Make Good Health Care Decisions

BLUEFIELD, W.Va., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- UniCare Health Plan of West Virginia, Inc. will hold a health expo this weekend in Bluefield to provide families with the tools they need to help manage their health.

UniCare's Healthy Family Healthy Kids Expo will be held Saturday, June 5 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Mercer County Mall and will feature more than 15 health-related exhibitors.

"West Virginia ranks high in obesity, smoking and cancer rates," said Mitch Collins, Director Field Operations for UniCare. "Through fun and entertaining events like this expo, we hope to educate families, and mothers, in particular, about the important choices they make on a daily basis that impact the health of their families."

The event will include several health screenings, games for the kids, and gifts provided by participating exhibitors.

Exhibitors at the health expo include: Weight Watchers, Right from the Start, Bluestone Health, REACHH – Teachers as Parents, SAFE Community Connections, SAFE- Stop Abusive Family Environment, Starting Points Program of Mercer County, WV Birth to Three, and WV DHHR – Bureau for Public Health.
