Award winners in 25 categories were selected by a panel of expert judges from the E. W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University.

Writer Camilla McLaughlin received a Gold Award in the national competition for her report for Unique Homes examining the rapid pace of wealth creation in Asia and its influence on the global luxury residential real estate market. The final installment in Unique Home's 2012 International Impact series, "Asia: The Pivotal Puzzle Piece" touches on everything from the number of billionaires to the effect of government regulations in the region and property opportunities in China, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea. Judges noted McLaughlin's work "was a comprehensive and interesting look at something in the real estate area that most Americans probably know little about."
