United States Department of Justice (DOJ) Licenses Nexidia for Audio Review
Criminal Division Installs Nexidia Audio Technology to Streamline Investigations
ATLANTA, June 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Nexidia, Inc., the market-leading provider of audio search and review software, announced today that the Criminal Division of the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) has licensed Nexidia's Audio Discovery software. The DOJ will use Nexidia for reviewing audio content produced in its investigations. The DOJ Criminal Division joins numerous agencies that are already using Nexidia solutions, including the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), as well as OfCom in the UK.
The Criminal Division of the DOJ is charged with enforcing and supervising the application of federal criminal laws. To fulfill its mission, the SEC routinely requests and receives large volumes of audio recordings. The ability to process and review audio recordings quickly and efficiently was at the heart of the agency's decision to select Nexidia's Audio Discovery technology.
"We're pleased the DOJ's Criminal Division has chosen Nexidia Audio Discovery for reviewing audio content in their investigations," said Jeff Schlueter, Vice President & General Manager of the Legal Market business unit for Nexidia. "The DOJ decision to license our software is further proof that it is the de-facto standard for reviewing audio in a timely and cost effective manner."
Verbal communications have become increasingly important for criminal investigations, and audio is subject to the same requirements for compliance and production as other forms of electronic data. Nexidia's patented phonetic technology, combined with its experience in call center operations, military and law enforcement agencies, and legal audio discovery, enables the company to deliver the most scalable, accurate, and affordable method for reviewing large volumes of audio content.
