Univar Canada and TATA Chemicals Ltd. Announce Distribution Agreement for Food and Nutraceutical Industries

New, natural, technologically advanced digestive health ingredients now available for the first time in Canada

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., Nov. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Univar Inc. (NYSE: UNVR) ("Univar"), a global chemical and ingredient distributor and provider of value-added services, along with TATA Chemicals Ltd., the world's leading player in basic chemistry products and India's Consumer and Specialty products, today announced a Canadian national distribution agreement bringing new fermented, digestive health ingredients to the Canadian market.

TATA NQ, the Nutritional Solutions division of TATA Chemicals Ltd., offers customers unique nature-backed, science-supported digestive health ingredients with the specific benefits needed to meet growing consumer nutritional trends.

With this agreement, Univar will be the exclusive distributor of TATA NQ's Fossence™ and Gossence™ prebiotic dietary fiber portfolio of ingredients for the Canadian market.  These fibers are used in a wide range of applications including dietary supplements; functional foods (bakery, dairy, snack foods); confectionaries; as well as pet food.  Fossence™ and Gossence™ are produced using TATA NQ's proprietary in-house fermentation technology in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in India.
