Universal AET Launches Fuel Tank Line

STOUGHTON, Wis., July 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Universal Acoustic & Emission Technologies is building upon its long history of designing and manufacturing for the Power Generation and Oil & Gas industries by adding the manufacture of a new line of tanks that hold combustible fuel in stationary applications, the company announced today.

The UL 142 listed tanks, certified for both the U.S. & Canada, are often placed under standby power generator enclosures and provide fuel – usually diesel – to the generator. The fuel tanks are an integral part of a complete generator set package provided by Ojibway Enclosures by Universal. Ojibway has traditionally purchased these types of tanks from vendors and fitted enclosures on top of them, but with this in-house manufacturing advance, the tanks will now be used for Universal AET's own production as well as sold to its customer base.

"We now have the ability to engineer and manufacture these critical products used in conjunction with our enclosures. We can control the tank design and manufacturing process, which allows us to provide a better-quality product and improved service to our power generation customers," said President and Chief Operating Officer Dick Strojinc.

The tank design allows flexibility for the customer to decide between multiple lifting options and either an I-beam structural support or a flat-top design with internal support for the generator.

The fuel tanks will be built at the company's Center of Excellence in Beloit, Wis. Universal AET can quote, design and manufacture tanks with optional features based on the customer's specific requirements.

Following recent approval from UL, the tanks will be manufactured to code 142 standards. They meet the variety of federal codes for combustible fuel storage, as well as various local and state codes. Tank designs are customizable for a wide range of applications, including locomotive and marine. Standard features include:
