Staples will operate on an appointment only basis out of The Private Room at the Upper Cuts National Harbor and Upper Cuts downtown D.C. location. The new service amenity brings Upper Cuts' luxury grooming options full-circle. Staples is also offering a Father's Day discount package of a suit, shirt and tie at over 50 percent off to celebrate the launch month. The special runs the entire month of June.

Malcolm Staples lives by the old adage "do what you love and it never feels like work." It was this inspiration that steered him to leave his corporate job to become a custom designer and entrepreneur. Heavily influenced by his grandfather, a man of style whom he describes as the best-dressed man he has ever seen, Staples is a product of the 50s fashion era attributing his very distinctive appeal to his connection to that era.

Known for perfectly tailored suits, Staples has dressed men and women globally. His clients include celebrities, media personalities, professional athletes, clergy and a host of politicians and business professionals. Notable clients include Bishop T.D. Jakes, Basketball Hall of Famer Earvin "Magic" Johnson, and Beauty and Sports icon, Jayne Kennedy. Staples' work was featured globally during 2013 Miss Universe Pageant in Moscow, Russia on host Thomas Roberts.

In 2010, Staples launched "Malcolm's Custom Made To Fit." His first job was designing the custom wardrobe for several athletes in the National Football League including his nephew, LaMarr Woodley of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Staples grew to have football clients on more than seven teams and it was at this embryonic stage where Malcolm's Custom Made To Fit was solidified.

A native of Saginaw, Michigan now residing in Washington D.C., Staples has garnered a reputation of producing upper echelon garments and an incomparable level of excellence. The self-described "details guru" leaves no stone unturned in providing the ultimate luxury custom experience.

Upper Cuts, LLC is a privately held Limited Liability Corporation. The business was founded in 2013. The first location, Upper Cuts Barber Shop, opened in Alexandria, Virginia in February 2014.
