Urban RAID Launches The First Ever Obstacle Race On The Streets Of Downtown Boston

PORTLAND, Maine, March 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- RAID Events LLC, owners of the RAID Series of Obstacle Races, announced today that Urban RAID, the city based race circuit of the Series, will become the first ever obstacle race to be staged on the streets of Boston. The event will take place on Saturday, July 27th in the heart of the vibrant and historic downtown area.
Urban RAID Boston will challenge participants with a unique course that weaves throughout downtown Boston. Starting in City Hall Plaza, racers will wind around Government Center before a circuit through the Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Racers will find themselves back at City Hall for the signature finish in the middle of the Plaza. Post Race the RAID Series Festival kicks into high gear with music, refreshments and sampling from event sponsors.
By the time they reach the finish line, racers will have completed more than ten custom built obstacles constructed along the 3.1 mile course. Event organizers, Aura360, have been working closely with city officials to create a course route that showcases the best of Boston while having minimal impact on both traffic and pedestrians.

Founded in 2011, The RAID Series is expanding to multiple new markets in 2013. The RAID Series offers participants unprecedented access to unique Urban, Beach and Mountain environments. The official charity beneficiary of the RAID Series is Camp Sunshine. Camp Sunshine provides respite, support, joy and hope to children with life-threatening illnesses and their immediate families throughout various stages of a child's illness.
