"Since 2008, we've built real world puzzle events in almost 40 cities across North America that people need to get off their couch to solve," says UrbanQuest Founder, Anthony Woods. "EPIC Quest will be a puzzle challenge on an entirely different scale because we've made it an online adventure and taken down the geographical barriers."
The tagline "Win a Little, Give a Little" has been coined to explain a special component to EPIC, where charities also benefit from the prize money. In the style of Celebrity Apprentice, EPIC winners will choose a charity to receive a donation equal to the prize money they've won.
Woods believes the puzzles and intrigue, combined with the allure of the prize money and opportunity to make a charitable contribution will attract a huge audience for the EPIC Quest. With that in mind, the money raised through Indiegogo will fund the cost of building the EPIC Quest to handle heavy traffic and truly make it 'the biggest Internet puzzle in history.' Costs will also include design, testing, legal fees, and much more.
"We developed and tested a beta EPIC with select users over the course of several months," said UrbanQuest Designer, Wes Michelakos. "We're really appreciative of the feedback we received and now feel equipped to build the full scale EPIC Quest and make it open to everyone."
Indiegogo contributions start at $5, in exchange for perks like UrbanQuest products and hints for the EPIC Quest.
