DUBLIN, Oct. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/sk5hhm/us_and_european) has announced the addition of the "US & European Markets for Hip Arthroscopy - 16 Countries (2010-2020)" report to their offering.
Hip arthroscopy can involve a variety of tools including RF probes, blades, suture passers and anchors. Typically, hip arthroscopies involve a hip access kit, which combines many of the standard tools required for the procedure. The RF probe market consists of articulating and non-articulating segments. Articulating RF probes were viewed as beneficial as they could be adjusted which can be helpful in gaining better access to the hip. More recently, improvements in surgical technique, particularly in regards to the incisions made for hip access, have eliminated the need for an articulating probe.
Moreover, because articulating probes can cost nearly twice as much as a static probe, there is financial incentive for purchasers to choose static probes.
