US Commerce Secretary Gary Locke in Hong Kong With Brammo Inc. CEO Craig Bramscher.

ASHLAND, Ore., May 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Brammo CEO Craig Bramscher is currently in Hong Kong with US Secretary Gary Locke who is leading a senior-level U.S. business development mission to China to promote U.S. exports in a broad range of leading U.S. technologies related to clean energy.

The delegation is comprised of 22 U.S. firms representing a cross-section of U.S. industries that have developed products, services or technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Brammo's first product to be exported to China is the Enertia, an electric motorcycle built in Ashland, Oregon. The Enertia has a top speed of over 60 miles per hour (95 km/h), a range of 42 miles (68 kilometers) and a charging time of about 4 hours. The award winning Enertia is currently in trial use with the Hong Kong Police and the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department.

Distribution of Brammo's products in China is handled by JCAM Advanced Mobility Company Ltd., the Hong Kong–based electric vehicle distribution company co-founded by megastar Jackie Chan.

Secretary Locke brought the mission to Hong Kong and discussed the need for China and the US to share the responsibility for creating the new energy economy and leading the world in clean energy solutions. The mission continues onto Shanghai and Beijing.

Gary Locke was appointed by President Obama as the 36th Secretary of Commerce and sworn into office on March 26, 2009.

As the first Chinese-American to hold this post in a president's cabinet, Locke has a distinctly American story. His grandfather emigrated from China to Washington State, initially finding employment as a servant, working in exchange for English lessons.
