US Department of the Interior Selects Niche Records Management System (RMS)

Enforcement software deal connects over 6,000 law enforcement officers across the US

WASHINGTON, July 12 /PRNewswire/ - The US Department of the Interior (DOI) has selected Niche Technology Inc.'s Records Management System (RMS) for the implementation of its Incident Management Analysis & Reporting System (IMARS). Niche RMS will enable seamless data sharing between more than 6,000 law enforcement officers from six agencies across one-fifth of the USA's land-base, creating one of the largest geographic law enforcement data sharing deployments in the world.

Niche's system will support operational policing for the DOI's Office of Law Enforcement and Security, and other Bureaus including Indian Affairs, Land Management, Reclamation, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, and the National Park Service. Overall, the DOI has the federal Executive Branch's third largest police force with responsibility for protecting people, natural and cultural resources, and facilities, on more than 500 million acres of DOI-managed lands.
