U.S. Department of the Treasury Seized & Forfeited General Property Program

CHICAGO, June 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- VSE Corporation and Rick Levin & Associates, Inc. will conduct an auction of seized and forfeited property including, 3 luxury vehicles, as well as over 300 lots of jewelry, watches, and collectibles that were seized and forfeited during the course of the Scott Rothstein case. Scott Rothstein entered a guilty plea in January 2010 and was sentenced to 50 years in federal prison in June 2010.

The auction will be conducted on behalf of the U.S. Department of the Treasury at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at Broward County Convention Center, 1950 Eisenhower Blvd., Ft. Lauderdale, FL, 33316.

This public auction is a continuation of the auction held in June 2010 which featured a Bugatti Veyron and a Warren Yacht.  The previously auctioned items, along with the watches, jewelry, collectibles and other high-end vehicles that are being auctioned on July 13, 2011, were all acquired by Rothstein, and others, through his operation of a massive ponzi scheme.  

Revenue from the auction will be placed in the U.S. Treasury's Asset Forfeiture Fund and the net proceeds will be available as restitution to the victims of Scott Rothstein's crimes.

The July 13, 2011, auction will include the following vehicles:

• 2009 Mercedes Benz
• 2008 Corvette
• 2009 Corvette Z06

There are 203 designer watches in the auction, featuring a white gold and silver Piaget (Lot 102).Some of the other watch brands include:

• Several ladies styles

The public may preview all the property and register for the auction at the VSE Pompano Beach Warehouse, located at 2951 NW 27th Avenue, Pompano Beach, FL 33069 on Monday, July 11, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and Tuesday, July 12, 2011, from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Sale Day Registration will begin at 8 a.m. at the Broward County Convention Center, Grand Floridian Ballroom.  No property will be available for viewing or pick up at the Convention Center on sale day.
