EUFAULA, Ala., Sept. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- On Monday, Sept. 26, Rep. Martha Roby (R-AL) will tour an American original that's proud of the made-in-the-USA label: the JKM Manufacturing, Inc. plant in the heart of Alabama.

Rep. Roby, elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2010 to serve Alabama's 2nd Congressional District, will tour the Eufaula, AL, plant on Monday at 4 p.m. CDT.

JKM CEO Chad B. White will lead Rep. Roby on a tour of the 22,000-square-foot plant, one of the last manufacturers in Alabama.  JKM helps drive the economic engine of the region, employing about 30 people.

"We're honored that Rep. Martha Roby is coming to JKM Manufacturing  to see how companies can succeed right here in the heart of our nation, creating jobs for American families," White said. "Our nation has a proud industrial history as innovators. That's a legacy JKM works hard to uphold."

Said Eufaula Mayor Jay Jaxon, "We are very pleased that Congressman Roby will be in Eufaula and specifically visiting JKM Manufacturing."

JKM is a leading manufacturer of complex wire harness assemblies, rugged electronic systems, circuit card assemblies, electro-mechanical assemblies and other specially engineered products. It manufactures products for military contracts directly and as a subcontractor to partners in the defense, aviation, communications and aerospace industries.

Said White, "Alabama has been a great state in which to manufacture. The state government has opportunities to train people, and they do a good job in partnering with industry."

Rep. Roby sits on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Committee on Agriculture and the House Education and the Workforce Committee. Rep. Roby is a strong advocate for greater efficiency, transparency and accountability in the 112th Congress.

"There is no doubt that job creation is the number one issue in our country and in our state. To help employers, we must ensure that we remove any federal regulations that will unleash the private sector and spur growth," said Rep. Roby. "Touring JKM Manufacturing is an opportunity for me to see, first-hand, how this facility is remaining secure in this economy. The company is a stellar example of the successful businesses in Alabama that are helping to revive America's economy with jobs."
