UT Medical Center Grants baby+co. Medical Privileges

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- baby+co., a network of maternity centers designed by women to practice a complete approach to maternity care, announces expanded delivery options in its Knoxville center in partnership with UT Medical Center. Starting on February 14, baby+co.'s midwifery team will now also be able to support planned delivery in the hospital at UT Medical Center, becoming the only birth center in Knoxville with medical privileges.

The partnership with UT Medical Center provides parents more flexibility when choosing the best birth plan for their family. Whether parents choose to have a hospital-based delivery from the beginning or need to be transferred during labor for any medical reason, expecting mothers will now be able to still choose baby+co. for prenatal care at the center and seamlessly receive their midwife's support during and after labor at the hospital. baby+co. will work closely with patients to understand the different offerings available at the center and hospital to help them make the best decision for their family.

baby+co.'s Knoxville birth center, which celebrates its first year anniversary this month, offers a different kind of birth experience for women and families. A dedicated team works with families to develop customized care plans that incorporate wellness counseling and coaching on topics like: nutrition, fitness, sleep, stress management and lactation to enhance traditional clinical visits.  Patients can also sign up for classes and workshops on varying subjects throughout the entirety of the pregnancy journey, as well as join parenting groups.
