But in the midst of taking care of clients and running a flourishing business, the owners of the V O Group, LLC took time out of their busy schedule last week to offer a helping hand to the community where they live and work.
On March 16, 2011, Adam and Ashley Lacerda presented a check for $5,000 to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey Southern Branch, to be used in the local Pantry to supply baby formula, diapers and food for infants in need.
Adam Lacerda, President and CEO of the V O Group, LLC said it was an honor to be able to make the donation to such a worthy organization.
"I believe local businesses and those who have plenty have an obligation to give back to the community. I would challenge other businesses, regardless of where they are located, to step up and donate when and where they can. We never know what will happen tomorrow and it could be your own family needing help one day," Adam said.
"Since the V O Group is committed to helping timeshare owners who are victims of timeshare fraud, it seemed right to help others, but with different problems," he said.
According to Ashley Lacerda, Vice President and COO of the company, she and Adam were especially touched by the needs of infants and children.
"When we sat down and talked to Ronald Lewis, manager of the local food bank Pantry, we knew immediately where we wanted our contribution to go within the food bank network and how we wanted the money used. We wanted to help young mothers and fathers who struggle daily to buy infant formula that can cost $30 a can, and other infant needs. We were deeply touched by the stories Ron shared and the passion he has for the work he does," said Ashley.
Margie Barnham, Food Bank of New Jersey Southern Branch Executive Director, joined Lewis at the Vacation Ownership Group's corporate office for the presentation. She said the generous donation would help hundreds of families in need.
In addition to the donation to the food bank Pantry, the V O Group recently donated food, clothing, toiletries, blankets and $500 to the Atlantic City (NJ) Rescue Mission.
"We simply believe it is more than important to help those in need. If we can help even a little, then we believe we should," said Ashley.
"In fact, the V O Group was formed to help victims of timeshare fraud and many of our clients are seniors who are retired or want to retire but can't because of the enormous debt they find themselves in. We are dedicated to helping people in need and this is just another way to do that," she said.
The V O Group, LLC is a Timeshare Consulting Firm committed to helping timeshare owners who are the victims of fraud and misrepresentation. The firm has eliminated over $50 million in timeshare debt for overwhelmed consumers, many of them senior citizens.
