SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark., June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Allens, Inc., the largest privately held vegetable company in the U.S., is proud to announce their upcoming expansions in Van Buren, AR and Oakfield, NY and a new plant acquisition in Ft. Worth, TX. The Texas acquisition provides a platform to continue to aggressively grow canned business in Texas, the Southwest and West. The Ft. Worth, TX acquisition from ConAgra Foods consists of a plant that formerly packed ranch style beans. "This acquisition is exciting for us as it will further solidify our already strong presence in Texas, a part of the country with even stronger economic and additional growth potential for our company," shares Rick Allen, Chairman and CEO of Allens, Inc.
With a current presence of three frozen vegetable operations in upstate New York and unprecedented success in the northeast with frozen vegetables, Allens will add a $2.2 million dollar canned vegetable operation in Oakfield, NY. With a strong grower base previously established, Allens is looking forward to success now with canned vegetables in the largest populated region of the country.
