Vencore Names Steve Griffin As Program Manager Of Its Largest Contract At Kennedy Space Center

CHANTILLY, Va., Oct. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Vencore, Inc. announced today the appointment of C. Steven (Steve) Griffin as senior vice president and program manager of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Engineering Services Contract (ESC) at Kennedy Space Center located in Florida.  This position reports to Joe Broadwater, senior vice president and general manager of the company's Space Group.  In this role, Griffin will lead Vencore's ESC team in the design and development of new systems, technologies and equipment to be used for the ground processing of space launch vehicles, spacecraft, and payloads.

Griffin comes to Vencore from the federal services division of CB&I (Chicago Bridge and Iron) as the senior director of operations and business development.  Prior to that experience, he has held senior program and operations management positions of increasing responsibility in support of national space, defense and security efforts, at companies including CSR (a joint venture of PAE and Raytheon Technical Services Company), Space Coast Launch Services (a joint venture of CSC and CB&I), the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, The Boeing Company, Astrotech Space Operations and McDonnell Douglas Astronautics Company.     

Griffin served five years in the U.S. Army upon receiving his bachelor's degree in engineering from the U.S. Military Academy.  He received his master's degree in engineering management from the University of Central Florida.

Vencore has held the prime contracting position since 2011 on the ESC program which employs more than 860 people at Kennedy Space Center.  The ESC program, currently the largest commercial contract at Kennedy Space Center, is helping NASA prepare for the next stage of exploration of the solar system and beyond.

Through this contract, Vencore provides engineering and design services to the NASA organizations engaged in development of new technologies, the NASA Engineering and Technology Directorate and the Ground Systems Development and Operations Program.

Vencore also performs flight systems engineering and supports engineering for spaceflight hardware and software; develops technologies that address NASA's mission requirements and operations needs for the future; operates laboratories, developmental shops, and test facilities; and provides a range of technical services.
