Veolia Environmental Services Celebrates 20 Years in Australia
In 2011, Veolia Environmental Services, the Environmental Services Leader in all facets of Waste Management and Resource Recovery, celebrates its 20th anniversary.
SYDNEY, Sept. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Veolia Environmental Services has enjoyed a long and varied history within Australia, starting in 1969 as a 50/50 joint venture between M Collins & Sons and Yellow Express who formed the company Collex Pty Ltd. Collex humbly started operations with 5 Frontlift Mobile Compactors and 3 Linehaul Transfer Trailers.
In 1991 the French Group Veolia Environnement through its subsidiary, Compagnie Generale d'Entreprises Automobiles (CGEA) purchased the waste management activities of Simsmetal Limited and Mayne Nickless Limited amalgamating them as Collex Waste Management Pty Ltd.

In 2006, the Collex brand became defunct, ushering in the global brand of Veolia Environmental Services; marking a new age in the Company's history.
From 1991 to 2011, Veolia has evolved significantly.
