VeraLight Announces Mexico Approval of the SCOUT DS® for Noninvasive Diabetes Screening and Exclusive Distribution Agreement With TekSalud

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., May 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- VeraLight Inc., a privately held medical device company based in Albuquerque, N.M., today announced its SCOUT DS® System is now approved for sale in Mexico after it received the official registration certificate from the Secretary of Health.

SCOUT DS is a noninvasive prediabetes and diabetes screening device that uses light to detect diabetes-induced changes in the skin with accuracy equivalent to current lab blood-based methods.  SCOUT facilitates opportunistic screening because it eliminates the need for blood, overnight fasting and waiting for lab results.  The Sanitary Registration is proof of conformity that certifies the product meets Mexican safety, health, and environmental requirements.

The SCOUT DS is immediately available for sale in Mexico through VeraLight's exclusive distribution partner, TekSalud.
