Davis was drafted in the 1st round (6th overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.  To date in the 2011 NFL season which was shortened by the lockout, Vernon has 55 receptions for 620 yards and 6 touchdowns; he has averaged 11.3 yards per catch.  During the 2010 football season Davis finished with 56 catches and 914 yards, resulting in 16.3 yards per catch. 

Davis joins his younger brother, Vontae, a former defensive back for the University of Illinois; Vontae Davis is a starting cornerback for the Miami Dolphins on Team Arctic Ease®. Vontae Davis joined Team Arctic Ease® in August 2011.
