BILLERICA, Mass., April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Christopher Lynch has joined Vertica as its new president and CEO, bringing more than 25 years of senior executive experience to the pioneering analytic database company.
With Vertica achieving yet another year of record revenue and customer growth, the company's board of directors tapped Lynch, a veteran of both emerging and established technology leaders, to take Vertica to the next level, extending its market leadership, channel partnerships and international expansion.

Prior to joining Vertica, Lynch was senior vice president of data solutions at F5 Networks, the global leader in application delivery networking, with whom Lynch helped orchestrate the successful acquisition of Acopia Networks, where he was previously CEO. Before Acopia, Lynch was vice president of worldwide content delivery networking sales at Cisco Systems, where he helped the networking giant become the leader in the content delivery market.

Previously, Lynch was vice president of worldwide sales, marketing and support at ArrowPoint Communications. He was instrumental in ArrowPoint's IPO and its subsequent $5.7 billion acquisition by Cisco. At ArrowPoint, Lynch's team grew revenues from zero to a $250 million annualized run-rate over 18 months and established 60 sales and support offices worldwide.
Prior to ArrowPoint, Lynch was vice president of North and South American sales for Lucent Technologies' Gigabit Ethernet Products Unit, where he built a sales and channel organization that generated revenue at an annualized run-rate of $40 million. He joined Lucent from Prominet Corporation after Prominet was acquired by Lucent for $200 million in January 1998. Lynch has also held sales leadership positions at Lucent Technologies, Prominet Corporation, Bay Networks, Wellfleet Communications, and Digital Equipment Corporation.
He earned an MBA from Bentley University and a bachelor's degree in business management from Suffolk University.
