VerticalResponse CEO Takes Best Entrepreneur Stevie Award for Women in Business

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Janine Popick, CEO of VerticalResponse, a leading provider of self-service marketing solutions for small businesses including email marketing, online surveys, social media, event marketing and direct mail marketing, secured the title of Best Entrepreneur in the business services category (up to 100 employees) in the 8th annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business. This is the fourth consecutive win for Popick.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs and the companies they run – worldwide. The awards are one of four Stevie Awards programs, which have been hailed as the world's premier business awards.

More than 300 nominees and their guests attended the awards dinner at New York's Marriott Marquis Hotel. The event benefitted Camfed (camfed.org), which fights poverty and HIV/AIDS in Africa by educating girls and empowering women to become leaders of change.

In addition to winning Best Entrepreneur, VerticalResponse and its executives were finalists in six other categories, including Best Overall Company of the Year, Fastest Growing Company of the Year, Website of the Year, Blog of the Year, Mentor or Coach of the Year (Kim Stiglitz, Director of Lifecycle Marketing) and Best Executive (Kristen Hayer, Director of Sales and Support).

Finalists in the competition were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging. Members of six final judging committees selected Stevie Award winners from among the finalists during final judging. More than 200 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process this year.
