TEMECULA, Calif., March 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Veterans Supplemental Support Network (VSSN) is a charitable organization fighting to end and prevent homelessness and hardship among veterans, military and their family members. The VSSN's Boots on the Ground Hiring and Education Fair in collaboration with the Department of Veteran Affairs: Vet Centers will start out its yearlong schedule of fairs with the purpose of connecting military, veterans, their families and the general public with top companies, organizations and schools that are prepared to hire job seekers or recruit new students as well as share financial aid information on the spot. The Boots on the Ground Hiring and Education Fair will take place on March 18th at the San Marcos Civic Center in San Marcos and on March 19th at Pechanga Casino and Resorts in Temecula. The Boots on the Ground Hiring and Education Fair will take place between 10:00am to 2:00pm on each day.
Some of the companies participating in The Boots on the Ground Hiring and Education Fair include: Union Bank, Humana, Nestle, Wells Fargo, Riverside Sheriff's Department, Heliopower, Paradise Chevrolet, Chick Fil A, the City of Temecula and The City of San Marcos. A variety of colleges will also be on hand at the Boots on the Ground Hiring and Education Fair and will include but are not limited to: University of California Irvine, SJVC, Azuza Pacifica, Colemen University, LA Film School, Design School of LA, Mira Costa College, National University, Mira Costa College and Phoenix University. Attendees are encouraged to attend both days of the Fair as some of the participating companies, organizations and colleges at each Fair will vary. Boots on the Ground Hiring and Education Fair was brought to the community by Temecula Vet Center, San Marcos Vet Center, City of Temecula, City of San Marcos, New Vision Mortgage, & Chipotle.
According to Daisy Tate, Executive Director of VSSN, "Participants in the fair will get a unique opportunity to meet with both potential employers and educators." Veterans Supplemental Support Network is an alliance of businesses, veteran, military and community support organizations, schools, groups and individuals who gather resources to support the ongoing need for food, toiletries and holiday toys. VSSN also connects thousands of veterans and transitioning military families to employment and skill training resources. VSSN serves more than 17,000 children and parents year round.
