Victor Valley to Save Taxpayers Millions by Entering into a Power Purchase Agreement with Anaergia

BURLINGTON, ON, April 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ - Anaergia Inc. (www.anaergia.com) today announced that the Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority (VVWRA) unanimously voted to enter a 20 year power purchase agreement with Anaergia to save the taxpayers millions of dollars over the life of the project.

Anaergia will utilize biogas currently being flared to produce thousands of megawatt hours of renewable electricity each year.  The energy will be used onsite for plant operations and will reduce the dependency for energy from local utilities.

Anaergia will design, build, and own the renewable energy system with no capital cost to Victor Valley.    "We're very fortunate to have the ability to turn that waste into energy and reduce the costs to our ratepayers long into the future," said VVWRA Commissioner and Apple Valley Town Councilman Scott Nassif. "It's an exciting project for the agency."
