Tonight's Game of the Week is just the fifth showdown ever between Partizan Belgrade and Montepaschi Siena. All four previous meetings had the same theme: not in our house! In the 2005-06 regular season, Siena and Partizan traded home wins, but neither advanced to the Top 16. Two years later, the results were the same, but the context was much different. This time, they battled in a Top 16 group that included that season's defending champion, Panathinaikos. Montepaschi dominated Partizan in the Top 16 opener, 71-54, as Ksistof Lavrinovic poured in 18 points. In the rematch, Partizan outlasted Siena 78-75 on late free throws by Dusan Kecman. Two weeks later, Partizan defeated Panathinaikos in the Top 16's last game as Kecman had 16 points and 13 rebounds. As a result, Siena and Partizan advanced side-by-side into the playoffs, both having helped eliminate the defending Euroleague champion.
