"President Mubarak should resign, he should be so consequent that to respect that he is no longer supported by the Egyptian people. "Martin Schulz called on the EU to mobilise resources for reform across the Arab world. As massive crowds marched in Egypt and King Abdullah of Jordan dismissed his government, demanding reforms, Mr. Schulz paid tribute to the demonstrators. "If you are looking to the people demonstrating in the streets, they are not Islamic fundamentalists, but people sharing our values and they want freedom of speech, they want democracy and we should support them."
