The European Parliament marked the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day with a debate and vote on two resolutions tabled by the Women's Rights Committee: one on gender equality and the other on female poverty. The European Parliament approved on March 8, a report warning that poverty is becoming a feminine issue, with single mothers and elderly women most at risk.
