The Creative Arts Wing was named after Meyda Tiffany and Lighting, which is owned by Robert and Ellie Cohen. The Cohen family has early arts and crafts roots in upstate New York. In 1974, Meyda Tiffany was founded when Meyer Cohen was asked by his wife Ida (the Meyda name was created by combining Meyer with Ida) to build a stained glass window in the kitchen of their home. What began as a hobby evolved into America's leading and oldest manufacturer of custom and decorative lighting. The family also founded well-known tourist spots including the Meyda Tiffany Stained Glass Studio and Nutty Putty Miniature Golf Course in Old Forge.
