Viewpoint Systems Named National Instruments Electronic Design Specialty Alliance Partner
NI Selects Viewpoint Systems for Custom Circuitry Expertise that Extends NI RIO Platform
ROCHESTER, N.Y., July 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Viewpoint Systems today announced the company was named an Electronic Design Specialty Alliance Partner by National Instruments. The Electronic Design Specialty identifies trusted experts for customers looking to extend and customize NI reconfigurable I/O (RIO) hardware products, including NI CompactRIO, NI Single-Board RIO and NI FlexRIO, to meet their application needs.
Viewpoint Systems works with engineers and machine builders who value leading hardware technology based on the NI LabVIEW RIO Architecture for high-quality machine control applications, and need a dedicated engineering team to precisely, accurately, and efficiently design and integrate custom electronics hardware to interface NI RIO hardware with sensor and machine signals in OEM or special-purpose systems.
Viewpoint Systems develops mezzanine cards that bring analog and digital I/O, signal conditioning, and connectivity including communications ports for I2C to NI RIO hardware. Customers using NI Single-Board RIO particularly benefit from custom circuitry to extend and customize Single-Board RIO to meet the needs of specific, real-world applications.
"NI selected Viewpoint Systems as one of the 10 Electronic Design Specialty partners based on the company's experience with CompactRIO and Single-Board RIO, and their history of success integrating the LabVIEW RIO Architecture and custom electronics into machine control applications," said Matt Spexarth, Embedded Systems Marketing Manager at National Instruments.
For companies looking to take a measurement and control product concept from prototype to commercial use, Viewpoint Systems creates enclosure, connection, and mounting solutions, along with software programming in addition to the custom circuitry.
"Often our clients have a vision for leveraging leading technology based on the LabVIEW RIO Architecture in a machine control application, but don't have the in-house expertise to easily design and integrate the hardware," said James Campbell, President of Viewpoint Systems. "Our engineers have the precise hardware and software expertise to come in and understand what a customer needs, design any support electronics I/O, and then integrate the NI RIO hardware and necessary software to achieve that vision."
Based on client needs, Viewpoint Systems can enter a machine control application at any point in its development process. The company's engineers can create a new system from just an idea, simulate a prototype of a developed design, or integrate custom circuitry into an existing system. Viewpoint Systems engineering teams develop applications that can execute on a variety of platforms, including PXI, NI Single-Board RIO and CompactRIO, and use NI LabVIEW, LabVIEW FPGA and LabVIEW Real-Time programming for real-time simulation, embedded control, and monitoring.
Viewpoint Systems provides clients with dedicated engineers that create the exact measurement systems clients need by understanding and defining system specifications, turning those specifications into system requirements, and then using the LabVIEW RIO Architecture and embedded software to prototype, build, and verify a system that achieves initial objectives.
