Viking Bank Re-Branding, Opening a New Building in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, Minn., Jan. 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Viking Savings, of Alexandria, Minnesota, is pleased to announce that they will be changing their name and brand to Viking Bank and opening their new building for business on January 17.

The new Viking Bank will be located at 4277 Dakota Street in downtown Alexandria.  A grand opening of the new building, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, will take place on February 16, at 4pm for its business banking customers. Viking Bank will also hold an open house for the general public on February 15, also at 4pm.

"We're absolutely thrilled to be opening at our new location, we'd grown out of our current space," said Shari Laven, Viking Bank's President. "Our goal is to make banking with us a lot more versatile and user friendly. The new building will let us provide so much more for our customers."

The new Viking Bank is a two-story, nearly 20,000 square foot building. It will have a large community room on the second level with an outdoor space connected to the community room.  The community room will be made available for Viking Bank customers as well as other non-profit organizations.

Viking Bank is excited for the move to the new building, as it will include a robust overhaul with new technology, and plenty of room for Viking Bank to provide more offerings for their customers, including a concierge service to help bank customers use their time at the bank more efficiently. Additionally, the bank hired an independent research firm to conduct a study to find out what changes respondents were looking for from the bank.

The research found that a high percentage of consumers were looking for both a mobile banking app and a concierge-type service, so Viking is implementing both of those changes as part of their re-branding.

The new building has been designed to be customer friendly, with all-glass partitions to create an open environment and give customers access to everyone on the Viking Bank team.

"We don't want anyone to feel like they're wasting time while they're at our bank," said Laven. "We're excited to offer a concierge service that enables us to engage immediately with our customers and help provide them with a better overall experience at Viking Bank."
