FREDERICK, Md., Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Visit Frederick, the official Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) for Frederick County, MD is thrilled to announce the launch of a new Downtown Frederick Scavenger Hunt, designed to be used alongside the popular Downtown Frederick Walking Tour Brochure. This collaborative project, designed by Postern, was in partnership with Chris Sparks of Surelocked In Escape Games and Artist Matt Long.
This family-friendly scavenger hunt, primarily geared for kids ages 6-13+, invites participants to follow the same route featured in the Walking Tour Brochure while searching for clues, landmarks, and lesser-known details tucked throughout Frederick's historic downtown.
The Visit Frederick Downtown Frederick Scavenger Hunt is only available at the Frederick Visitor Center located at 151 S. East St., and includes a special color changing pencil to fill in participant's answers.
How It Works
Participants can pick up a free copy of the Downtown Frederick Walking Tour Brochure and the Downtown Scavenger Hunt at Frederick Visitor Center, 151 S. East St. As they follow the walking tour route, hunters look for the clues listed on the scavenger hunt sheet and fill in their answers in the answer box. The scavenger hunt is a perfect activity for families, date days, school groups, or anyone looking to learn about Downtown Frederick.
