Vita-Tech® International Announces Food, Drug, Mass Market Debut of CinSulin® Concentrated Water Extract of Cinnamon
TUSTIN, Calif., Jan. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Vita-Tech International, Inc., a premier health sciences formulation and manufacturing company with a 57 year history of serving the Natural Products Industry, today announced its 2012 market launch of CinSulin® to U.S. Food, Drug and Mass Market retailers.
CinSulin is a premium, highly concentrated cinnamon extract with four U.S. and international patents, and an additional patent pending. This natural ingredient has been clinically proven in human studies to help maintain blood glucose levels within the normal range*+ (vs. placebo [p=0.05]). What makes CinSulin different from plain cinnamon is its proprietary water (aqueous) extraction process.
Aqueous cinnamon extraction, which means using only cinnamon, water and heat during processing, was the key to concentrate the soluble health-supporting ingredients in sufficient quantities for proven efficacy in maintaining healthy blood glucose levels within the normal range.*+
CinSulin's new patent pending process takes aqueous extraction to a new level by removing more of the undesirable and unwanted parts of whole cinnamon than simple water extraction alone. The result is the purest and most highly concentrated extract with the lowest levels of unwanted and extraneous ingredients.
A meta-analysis of eight previous cinnamon studies from recognized peer-reviewed journals was published in the September 2011 issue of the Journal of Medicinal Foods and concluded: "The fact that water extracts of cinnamon have (bioactive) activity suggests that these may be preferable in terms of use compared with whole cinnamon . . . as using water extracts of cinnamon achieves the desired blood glucose effects while avoiding the nonpolar constituents that have been linked to deleterious effects (e.g., oral lesions and mutagenicity.)"[1]
With a yield of 10:1, consumers looking to maintain their blood glucose within the normal range*+ only need to consume two-500 mg CinSulin capsules per day rather than the equivalent of 10 plain 500 mg cinnamon capsules. Those consumers are also eliminating the parts of the cinnamon plant researchers agree should not be ingested in large amounts over time.
Currently available in the TruNature brand at Costco since 2009, CinSulin will make its debut in U.S. Food, Drug and Mass Market retail outlets beginning in March 2012. For more information on CinSulin, visit www.cinsulin.com, or contact Neil Hanson at (925) 513-0645.
