VIZIO Wins Favorable Federal Circuit Appeal Ruling

IRVINE, Calif., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- VIZIO, America's HDTV and Consumer Electronics Company, today announced that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C. issued a ruling yesterday holding that certain "work-around" VIZIO digital television products do not infringe U.S. Patent No. 6,115,074 (the "'074 patent"), which is owned by Funai Electric Co., Ltd. and Funai Corporation.  In so ruling, the Federal Circuit reversed a prior decision by the International Trade Commission ("ITC") excluding certain VIZIO television products from importation into the U.S. while affirming in part the ITC's findings on certain "legacy" products, which are no longer being sold.
