Voices for Children of Tampa Bay Launches "Be a Voice"
TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Voices for Children of Tampa Bay Executive Director, Betsy Smith announced today the launch of a new multimedia campaign titled "Be a Voice." The goal of the movement is to encourage new corporate partnerships, continue volunteer growth and increase awareness on the abused, neglected and abandoned children in our community.
Smith said, "In 2012, VFC engaged local marketing veterans HCP Associates to plan and launch the largest marketing campaign in our history to increase volunteerism for the Guardian ad Litem program. At that time, there were 433 volunteers. We launched the 'People Making a Difference' effort with partnerships with community leaders, government and major media partners. The aftermath in late 2013 was a 62 percent increase; a seemingly unattainable recruiting goal. Now, we must extend the mission to increase funds and awareness to handle the training costs."
Coincidentally, on November 15 the River Rock Craft Beer and Music Festival took place at the Tampa Waterworks Park on Riverwalk and VFC was the sole recipient of a $25,000 donation. All thanks to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino; this was the largest fundraiser of the year for VFC.
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino President, John Fontana said, "We're really proud to be able to help improve the quality of life for all citizens in Tampa Bay, including the most vulnerable residents, the children. We hope to inspire other corporations in our community to do the same."
Eric Polins, Senior Strategist/Partner at HCP Associates, said, "On December 1, we launched a new website, "Be a Voice" outdoor billboards (courtesy of CBS Outdoor) and Bus Transit advertising (provided by HART). We also received a rather large pro-bono monthly gift from a corporation that wanted to remain anonymous; that donation could easily quadruple our online search queries."
Smith also stated, "As we disseminate our second big drive, it is the hope of the board of VFC that local and national corporations will see the need to support these less fortunate children. These kids are the future, and investing in them will make a lifelong difference."
