Voip-Pal.Com Inc. Opening New Sales Channels to India

BELLEVUE, Wash., Oct. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Voip-Pal.Com Inc. ("Voip-Pal") (OTC Pink sheets: VPLM) is pleased to announce that it will begin developing a potentially lucrative sales channel to India to help strengthen the global positioning of Voip-Pal's services and products.  

On August 14, 2008, Voip-Pal originally announced its Joint Venture Licensing Agreement with two website domains www.RupeeChat.com and www.RupeePhone.com.  The development of these sites was put on hold by Voip-Pal until its VoIP software was fully developed and tested.  RupeeChat.com and RupeePhone.com are licensed by Voip-Pal to host its technology on its websites and will operate as an Indian version of PointsPhone.com. Today, with Voip-Pal's current cloud server, softswitch platform and implementing the latest smartphone mobile apps available, Voip-Pal is ready to finish the development of these new sales channels to India.

Prior to 2002, VoIP use in India was banned in any form, but in April 2002, India finally allowed VoIP in a limited manner.  In late 2008, after years of crack down on VoIP and internet telephony, India's telecom regulators began the process of allowing unrestricted internet telephony and VoIP.  Many vendors such as Voip-Pal now see India as an untapped market and  potentially huge for its VoIP solutions.  There are an estimated 20 to 25 million Indian immigrants recorded worldwide of which 15% live in North America alone.  Indian immigrants generally stay in touch with contacts in their homeland India, and it is this niche market that Voip-Pal will be targeting.
